« MOON LIGHT »
On the river banks in Saint BO’
Become a moon catcher
For a summer night

For the first time « The Full Moon Theater » is going to make an experiment with the public. Everybody involved with the sky, with biodiversity, with fighting against light pollution, the use of solar energy or natural light, fans of the Moon are invited to be part of an unusual event, a « premiere » in wich they will be spectators as well as actors.

What’s all about it ? You will be guest on the full Moon night of the 25th to the 26th of July 2010, on the river banks of l’Hérault in Saint Bauzille de Putois (40km north of Montpellier Languedoc Roussillon France) to a free entertainment program that will be lit by you reflecting the moonlight. In order to do so, each of you will just have to come with its own miror and become a « moon catcher »

We basically use the same optical principle as in solar ovens, or the same way Archimedes used to set fire to the roman fleet by reflecting the sun to the sails. No infrared though with moonlight, but by multiplying its rays you get enough light to see colours at night without the « blue sky ».
In order to have an efficient system and enough light to perform we need to bring together between at least 1000 to 2000 moon catcher that will send back moonlight on to the stage with their individual mirors. Then it’s magic !
